A Letter from the Founder
To all business owners and hiring managers,
If you've ever had an employee who treated their job like a low priority—showing up late, calling out constantly, or disappearing altogether—you’re not alone. Like many business owners, I’ve seen firsthand how a few unreliable employees can disrupt an entire operation. They made poor life decisions that directly impacted their reliability, focus, and attitude—and yet they’d move on to their next job with a clean slate, ready to do it all over again to another hard-working business owner trying to run a successful operation.
That’s exactly why I created Employee Performance Scores—a platform designed not only to recognize good employees, but to hold the bad ones accountable. For the first time, business owners and managers can share honest, verified reviews about the people they’ve hired—good or bad—and help each other make better hiring decisions.
This is the only platform that allows you to rate your employees and build a history of performance that follows them throughout their working life. Think of it as a FICO score for the workplace.
EP Scores helps responsible workers stand out and helps business owners avoid repeating the same costly hiring mistakes. It’s a tool to protect your time, your investment, and your peace of mind. There is no other platform like this—and now is your chance to help shape it from the ground up.
Real Results from Our Pilot Test
Before launching EP Scores, I ran a pilot test with my own team to see how performance ratings would affect motivation. The results were immediate — my top performers took pride in their scores, while others became determined to raise theirs. One employee even said, “Average? Oh hell no, I’m better than average,” and promised to prove it next quarter. Even those with lower ratings were motivated by seeing their coworkers’ pride. It was clear that once employees received an EP Score Rating, they became more accountable, more competitive, and more driven to improve — proof that performance reviews don’t just measure accountability, they inspire it.
As business owners, we understand the importance of maintaining a strong Google rating — we know that if it drops below a four-star rating, our reputation and revenue can take an immediate hit. The same will soon hold true for employees and their EP Score Ratings. Until now, most of us never considered that employees could have a rating that reflects their professionalism, reliability, and work ethic the same way a business’s rating reflects its reputation. Once employees understand that their EP Score is their personal “reputation score” in the workforce, they’ll value it just as much as we value our Google rating. That’s when accountability, pride, and performance naturally rise to the next level.
I understand that launching something new takes time, and momentum builds gradually. That’s why we are offering free membership to all employers, employees, and independent professionals. In the beginning, you may not see hundreds of jobs posted, or a large pool of pre-vetted candidates—that part is coming. But your participation now is what will make that future possible.
Start by creating your free account. Post your job openings and begin reviewing your current employees. This simple step not only helps you document and recognize your team’s performance, but also sets a clear standard of accountability within your workplace. We’re all busy running our businesses, but completing a performance review takes less than five minutes—and it can save you hours of future frustration.
Note on Honest Reviews:
Giving an honest and accurate performance review—whether positive or negative—is perfectly legal. Under state law, the truth is an absolute defense to any defamation claim, and Florida courts protect opinions and truthful statements made in good faith.
Additional Note: By sharing your sign-in credentials with your managers, they’ll gain access to the company’s dashboard, where they can submit performance reviews, post job openings, and hire pre-vetted employees.
If we all do our part, we’ll build the most powerful hiring tool business owners have ever had.
This is the opportunity I wish I had years ago. And I believe it may be your one and only chance to help build something this valuable—something that could transform hiring for all of us.
Don’t sit back and watch this pass you by. Join the movement. Shape the future. And never hire in the dark again.
Sincerely,
Steve McMahon
